Why doesn't Yoplanning include invoicing?
The billing and accounting landscape has changed dramatically in recent years. Between the arrival of standards like Factur-X, the widespread adoption of smart accounting tools, and the upcoming requirement for electronic invoicing, there is now a clear distinction between operational tools (like Yoplanning) and billing/accounting tools.
This page explains why we encourage the use of specialized tools for invoicing, and how Yoplanning integrates seamlessly with them.
1. Yoplanning is an operating software, not an accounting software.
Yoplanning is designed to manage your operational activity:
planning,
monitors and resources,
sessions,
monitoring of services.
Invoicing, however, falls under the accounting and tax domain. Integrating all the rules and obligations (VAT, legal archiving, bank reconciliations, interoperability with accountants, PDP certificates, etc.) would add significant complexity that would divert Yoplanning from its main role.
We therefore favour a clear and healthy separation: Yoplanning manages operations, specialized software manages accounting.
2. The reform of electronic invoicing: a very demanding framework
The French reform is gradually imposing the following on all companies:
to receive electronic invoices from 2026,
to issue structured electronic invoices from 2027.
These obligations impose:
the use of a structured format (Factur-X, UBL, CII),
a process via a Partner Dematerialization Platform (PDP) or the Public Billing Portal (PPF),
secure and compliant archiving,
e-reporting for certain operations.
These constraints are typically handled by accounting software and approved platforms.
3. Yoplanning already generates invoices in Factur-X format
This is an important point.
Today, Yoplanning produces invoices in Factur-X format, a hybrid PDF + structured XML data format compliant with the European standard EN16931.
In concrete terms:
You can import the PDFs generated by Yoplanning into any Factur-X compatible software (Pennylane, QuickBooks, ACD, Tiime, Wity, Sage, Cegid, etc.).
These invoices are compliant with current and future legal requirements, including after 2027.
This allows you to freely choose your accounting tool, without constraints.
Thus, even if Yoplanning does not replace accounting software, it produces invoices that are fully usable for electronic invoicing.
4. Why we encourage the use of specialized tools
Solutions like Pennylane offer:
Automatic payment tracking,
intelligent bank reconciliations,
complete VAT management,
certified legal archiving,
accounting dashboards,
smooth communication with the accountant,
full compliance with future obligations (PDP, e-reporting…).
These features go beyond the scope of an operational tool and are essential for modern accounting.
Using a specialized tool guarantees you:
compliance,
automation,
simplicity for you and for your accountant.
5. How does the integration of Yoplanning and your accounting software work?
You create your invoices in Yoplanning, in Factur-X format.
You import the PDFs into your accounting software or your PDP.
The system automatically reads the billing data (amounts, VAT, customer…).
All accounting and tax management is then done in your specialized tool.
It's simple, reliable and compliant with the law.

Pennylane IntegrationConclusion
Yoplanning is not intended to become a complete billing platform, as this role is now filled by specialized tools, optimized for compliance and accounting automation.
In contrast, Yoplanning produces Factur-X invoices, directly compatible with all modern accounting and electronic invoicing systems. This allows you to:
of a powerful operating tool,
of a compliant and automated accounting system,
of full compatibility with future legal obligations.
